Civil and Environmental Engineering - Hands-on and Real

From the Egyptian pyramids to the Roman aqueducts, to the Eiffel Tower, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Panama Canal and the Hoover Dam, Civil and Environmental Engineers play a part in wondrous, society-improving creations. While you may not be designing the next Brooklyn Bridge in your first semester Freshman Clinic at Rowan, you will be solving real problems and completing real projects.

Civil engineers are problem-solvers; they design, build and maintain the roads, bridges, buildings, pipelines, dams, canals and other structures that make our society function efficiently. Environmental engineers pioneer new technologies for cleaning up man-made hazardous waste sites, treating water to make it safe to drink, recycling waste materials into useful products, and controlling pollution.

As a Civil Engineering student at Rowan you'll learn and practice in all the facets of the discipline, including structural, environmental, water resources, geotechnical and transportation engineering. And, maybe, you'll devise something to make your world a better place to live.
