The Rowan community is invited to a memorial service at 4:00pm Friday, October 5, in Bozorth Auditorium to honor Dr. Nathan Carb, who served tirelessly as an English professor for 52 years before retiring at the end of the 2010-11 academic year. Light refreshments and fellowship in Hollybush will follow the memorial service.
Dr. Carb passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2012 after a long illness. Please gather with us to celebrate the life and accomplishments of an extraordinary individual who devoted his life to teaching literature and serving as an inspiration for his students, friends, family, and colleagues.
Dr. Carb had the distinction of becoming the youngest full professor in a New Jersey state college at the age of 33, serving as English Department chairman for 20 years from 1983 to 2003, and dedicating himself to superb teaching for 52 years before retiring in May 2011. His teaching specialties included Shakespeare, Modern European Literature, American Drama, and British literature.
