For anyone who is unable to visit the Rowan University Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site, who feel they may prepare their returns on their own, there is a new option. This year, the Rohrer College of Business will participate in free assistance through the MyFreeTaxes Partnership, which provides free state and federal tax preparation and filing assistance for individuals with adjusted gross income under $57,000. Rowan University Art Gallery presents the exhibit "Common Interests: mobility and transformation of public life" from January 22 through March 16.

"Common Interests" is a survey of projects that question how public space and public assets are managed, offering theoretical and practical ideas for reclaiming autonomy in public space. Working with sculpture, interventions, social practice, drawing, performance and video, the exhibiting artists reflect on the limitations and possibilities of public space, proposing new ways of accessing, navigating and improving these shared resources. Guest curated by Sara Reisman, the exhibition features work by Pierluigi Calignano, Sue Jeong Ka, Jonggeon Lee, Mary Mattingly, Diego Medina, Francesco Simeti, Tattfoo Tan, Lan Tuazon and Alex Villar.

Admission is free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm (extended to 7 pm on Wednesday); and Saturday, 12 - 5 pm.

The Muslim Journeys Bookshelf is presented by the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association. This project provides selected libraries with a special collection of materials designed to promote understanding of the people, places, histories, beliefs, practices, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world.

Library Services received the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf (which includes twenty-five books, three dvds, and a one-year subscription to an online database). For a list of the materials in the collection, go to http://tinyurl.com/muslimjourneysbookshelf

Library Services has partnered with several on-campus groups to organize activities exploring Muslim beliefs and Islamic civilization.

StudentCare is a dedicated group of students on the Rowan campus who are trained in peer facilitation and education skills to help other students to make healthy decisions.

All Rowan students, regardless of major, are invited to participate in our meetings and events!

Students are granted contact hours for participating in StudentCare.

Meetings are Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. in the Rec Center conference room. Please bring your Rowan ID to gain entrance to the Rec Center.
