Rowan University featured in the Princeton Review's "The Best 301 Business Schools: 2010 Edition" | MoreAlcohol-Wise The Center for Addiction Studies & Awareness (CASA) respects the right of our students to make their own choices. We support those who choose not to drink, and strive to create a community where the behaviors of drinkers does not infringe on the rights of others. To get you off on the right foot, all entering freshmen students are REQUIRED to complete the online Alcohol-Wise course before attending classes (deadline August 1). You will need a passing grade of 75%. Thirty days after completing the online course, you will receive an email to complete a 15 minute mandatory follow-up. If you do not complete your required course and follow-up by October 1, a "hold" will be placed on your records that will prevent you from registering for classes of receiving final grades. The Alcohol-Wise course takes about an hour to complete and the follow-up takes about 15 minutes. To receive credit, you must follow the instructions below and enter the correct control number:
You will receive a password immediately on the screen and by email. Login using your Rowan email address and the password. The course takes about one hour and you can login and out as needed. You will receive an email in 30 days reminding you to complete the 15 minute follow-up. You and our Center will receive an email notification of your completion only after you finish both the course and follow-up. Print out a copy for your records. There is excellent information in this program, whether you drink or not. You will have a chance to look at your own drinking habits, learn tips on how to drink in moderation and avoid bingeing, and how to deal with others who are disruptive or in danger. |
