What Do I Get?

This service provides faculty, staff and students with access to software programs that are not locally installed on their computers through virtual desktops and applications.

Why Do I Want It?

Virtual desktops provide access to a Windows 10 desktop experience that can be accessed from any computer by anyone. There are several types of virtual desktops available, each of which is equipped with software programs applicable to the group the desktop is designed for.

In addition, there are separate virtual applications available in Citrix outside of the desktops. These applications may require an additional level of authorization for access due to data or license restrictions.

Who Can Get It?

This service is available to faculty, staff and students. However, access is restricted for certain desktops and applications.

How Do I Request It?

Faculty, staff and students automatically receive access to virtual desktops based on their role at the Rowan University once their Rowan NetIDs have been provisioned.

Managers of employees who need access to restricted clinical and administrative applications must request access on the employee’s behalf. You can also contact the Technology Support Center for help with access to particular applications at 856-256-4400. Requests for virtual application access take up to two business days to complete.

How Can I Access It?

To access virtual desktops and applications on a Rowan-owned or personal device, you must have Citrix Workspace installed on your computer. Citrix Workspace is installed on all Rowan-owned computers. To download Citrix Workspace on a personal computer, visit go.rowan.edu/workspace.

Once you have Citrix Workspace installed, log in to access.rowan.edu to access virtual desktops and applications.
