The Whit, Rowan's student-run campus newspaper, has been in print since 1938. Produced by an editorial staff of about a dozen students, The Whit prints at least 3,000 copies weekly, distributing to the entire campus and parts of Glassboro. The paper covers all campus activity, as well as a fair amount of off-campus news, in its events coverage, investigative stories, profiles, opinion pieces, sports coverage, movie reviews, travelogues,music reviews, on- and off-campus concert reviews, and scores of other articles about and pertaining to the Rowan campus.

The Whit has also received a multitude of awards for its coverage and design. Most recently, the Columbia Press Association awarded the paper a GOLD rating in 2001. Also in the 2001 New Jersey Press Association's Contest for Better College Newspapers,The Whit won nine individual awards, more than any other paper in its category, as well as placing third in General Excellence.
