Iota Phi Theta Iota Phi Theta was founded on September 19th, 1963 at Morgan State College (now Morgan State University) by twelve students with the purpose of, "The development and perpetuation of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood among Men." Today, Iota Phi Theta consists of over 198 chapters in 40 states and the District of Columbia. It is now the fifth largest, predominately African American social service fraternity.
