Rowan IEEE 07/08 Student Branch: Message from the Chair

IEEE is the largest technical professional society in the world. It provides an extremely valuable opportunity for student members to network and interact with the professional community. Members are able to experience and learn about advancing technology through conferences, presentations, and professional publications such as the IEEE website and member magazines. Active participation in IEEE helps to build a vast network that connects students, universities, professionals, and industry leaders by allowing its members to interact with these professionals through various channels.

Being affiliated with IEEE is a valuable association that can lead to future endeavors in the field of engineering. There are numerous benefits and opportunities that are available, and we urge members to take full advantage of them. Assuming a leadership position in the IEEE is one of the best ways to acquire communication and leadership skills. I am currently the chair of the Rowan University student branch, and I have learned first-hand the benefits of what IEEE can offer. I continually search for ways to improve our branch activities and increase our membership participation. Being a collegiate member of IEEE is elemental to building a foundation in the engineering field, and I believe that being an active and engaged member of the IEEE after graduation is an excellent way to continue to meet other professionals and ultimately reach one’s desired career goals.
