HISTORY

The College of Business Administration at Rowan University established a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta in 1996. Sigma Beta Delta, a member of the Federation of Business Honor Societies, is an international honor society for students of business, management or administration who are pursuing baccalaureate or master's degrees. Students who rank in the top of their class are eligible for lifetime membership and national recognition of their scholarship. The principles of the Society are wisdom, honor and the pursuit of meaningful aspirations -- three qualities that are important for success in academe and beyond. INDUCTION CEREMONY:

*~ 2001 Induction Ceremony ~*	Prospective new inductees to Sigma Beta Delta are issued a letter of invitation by mail in March of each year. Membership in SBD is not automatically conveyed by the invitation. Inductees must respond with some additional information and pay a lifetime membership fee, the majority of which goes to the SBD National while the remainder supports local chapter expenses.
A formal induction ceremony is held each spring, traditionally in the last week of April. Newly tapped honorary members are afforded an opportunity to speak to the assembly. Inductees are recognized individually. Each is awarded a certificate, a lapel pin, and a green and gold honor cord to wear on their graduation robe at commencement.	~ 2001 Induction Ceremony ~
