Associate Professor - MIS

Biography:

Dr. Darren B. Nicholson is an Associate Professor of MIS at Rowan University. He received his Ph.D. and B.A. in Business Administration, with a specialization in Information Systems from Washington State University.

Darren currently teaches courses across the MIS and Entrepreneurship curriculum at both the Undergraduate and Graduate level, including: Web Programming, Introduction to MIS, Networking and Telecommunications, Systems Analysis and Design, IS/IT Strategy and Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship, Data Structures, Special Topics in IS/IT, and MIS Capstone Consulting Experience. Dr. Nicholson's research interests include virtual teams, human-computer interaction, enterprise systems, entrepreneurship, and distance education.

His research has been published in outlets such as IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication (IEEE), Journal of Information Technology Theory and Application (JITTA), Journal of Information Technology Education (JITE), Journal of Organizational and End User Computing (JOEUC), International Journal of e-Collaboration (IJeC), and the proceedings/chapters of many national and international conferences and textbooks.

Dr. Nicholson also serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the American Journal of Business (AJB), the Journal for Computer Information Systems (JCIS), the Journal of Information Technology Case Research (JITCAR), the International Journal of Business Intelligence and Systems Engineering (IJBISE), and the Journal of Information Technology Education (JITE).  He also serves as an ad-hoc reviewer and reviewer for many peer reviewed outlets (e.g., MISQ, ISR, JMIS, EJIS, ISM, JOEUC, JOCEC, IEEE, ICIS, HICSS, AMCIS, ECIS). He has also been honored and recognized on multiple occasions for his dedication to students, teaching, and service.
