Call for Papers - Achieving Sustainability through Innovation
Date / Time: Friday April 01, 2011 | 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Rowan University Student Center Enyon Ballroom
An increasingly holistic understanding of the myriad linkages among natural, economic, social and cultural systems has made evident the need to radically alter how we manage all our resources. The moral and economic imperative of building sustainable economies and societies has resulted in a global multi-faceted movement toward incrementally more sustainable organizations and systems. The experimentation, innovations, and collaborations are still at an early stage of the sustainability journey and there is still a long way to go.
The third annual conference builds on the previous two conferences with a focus on Achieving Sustainability through Innovation. The role of innovation, broadly defined, includes product, process, technology, organizational, and system-wide innovations that are aimed at embedding sustainability at every level of organizational ecologies. Faculty, students, executives, practitioners, governments, and NGOs are invited to submit proposals for presentation. Collaborative proposals from academics, practitioners, governments, and NGOs are welcome. While all aspects of sustainability (economic, environmental, social and cultural) are appropriate, proposals consistent with the following topics are of particular interest:
The deadline for proposals is March 18, 2011. Please send proposals in a Word file to firstname.lastname@example.org. Abstracts may be up to five pages in length and must include the names and contact information of the authors. Similarly, students may follow the same format and indicate the submission is for the student sessions (indicate whether Graduate or undergraduate student and include name, contact information of faculty sponsor). Conference registration will be waived for all presenters.
If there is interest in proposing a panel or symposium (preferably with academics and executives, practitioners) please e-mail email@example.com with an overview and list of panelists
