Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Marketing and Business Information Systems is to prepare students for careers in a rapidly changing economic, political, social, and technological environment. The major goal of the proposed program is to provide students with a full understanding of the logistical functions and the methods used to manage supply chains so that they may be strong contributors to their employers.
Program Goals and Objectives
- To provide a thorough grounding in the business disciplines through the Common Business Core experience
- To provide students with a solid understanding of the logistical functions that exist in all supply chains
- To assist students in developing the analytical and technical skills necessary to understand and manage the resources in a modern business organization
- To provide students with a specific understanding of operational systems and processes related to supply chains (i.e., Six Sigma processes)
- To help students identify appropriate strategies for addressing problems and challenges that arise in supply chains
- To introduce students to the additional challenges provided by global supply chains and the expanding markets abroad
