E-Filing Update

The 2008 individual tax filing season proved to be one of the most challenging for practitioners, with last-minute changes to the alternative minimum tax impacting five major tax credit forms, along with the economic stimulus payments. The number of electronic options made available by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) helped taxpayers and practitioners reduce the burden and improve the timeliness and accuracy of tax returns. Through product and website enhancements, the IRS is making it easier than ever for practitioners to manage their clients? taxes electronically. Almost all IRS forms can now be filed and paid electronically for individuals, businesses and tax-exempt organizations.
