Emp Exam of Relationship b/w CEO Compensation & Corp Reputation, Org Change, CEO Power & Fin Perf

This paper investigates a comprehensive relationship between various CEO compensation measures and corporate reputation, organizational change, CEO power and financial performance. It empirically examines CEO's salary, bonus, and long-term compensation with respect to various organizational and performance factors such as corporate reputation, downsizing, CEO's power and accounting and market performance. The results in general exhibit CEO's total compensation has a significant and positive relationship with CEO power, corporate reputation, ROE, Tobin's Q, Market Rate of Returns and technology. Total compensation however shows a significantly negative relationship with downsizing. With respect to the CEO's salary, CEO's tenure, Corporate reputation, Tobin's Q and technology show a significantly postitve relationship. For the long-term compensatoin, Tobin's Q and technology exhibit a significantly positive relationship while downsizing shows a significantly negative relationship.
