Emp Sig of Product & Mkt Diversification in Determining Productivity & Corp Perf: U.S. vs. Korean Firms

Product diversification and market diversification have a different impact on corporate financial performance (accounting-based and market-based performance including labor productivity) across countries, particularly in U.S. and Korean firms. The findings of this research suggest that increased product diversification appears to have a detrimental impact on a corporate performance for U.S. firms while it does for Korean firms only with respect to market-based performance including labor productivity. Multinational diversity, however, has positive impact on profitability for Korean firms but has no impact for U.S. firms.
