Leadership Practice in Gambia

This paper examined leadership practice in the government of the Gambia. Qualitative results suggested that understanding Traditional African Leadership Practice is a key ingredient in working with African government. Qualitative results also suggested that in other understand leadership practice in African government, we must first understand the role and value of Valuing Family, Respect for Elders, Mentorship, Motivation, Transparency, Ownership, Commitment, Partnership and Trust. The paper also offered the "TOSAP MODEL" as a theoretical base in understanding African Leadership Practice. Thus, the paper concludes by providing topics for possibilities for further research.
