Technology Licensing: Users and Non-Users
Much research has been done on the increasing importance of licensing as a source of new technology for firms. However, there is a dearth of research on the differences in characteristics of licensee and non-licensee firms. An analysis of sample British firms indicates that licensee firms are significantly different from non-licensee firms in the areas of management characteristics, management's perception in their industry, and the costs and benefits of licensing.
