The following paper presents the results of a two year effort to move Rowan University toward the concept of the entrepreneurial university and a project based learning model. This paper presents the origins and logic underlying that effort. Key elements influencing this policy and discussed in detail include: 1. Creation of a Unifying Vision 2. Developing a Model Entrepreneurship Program 3. Capitalizing on the Engineering School Successes Based upon the results of the ongoing efforts of the university, the authors suggest it is possible to start with small initiatives toward and entrepreneurial university and build upon each initiative as they develop.
