An Empirical Investigation on the Major Determinants of Compensation in Higher Education

This study attempts to investigate the major determinants of faculty compensation in universities by focusing on the empirical linkage between faculty compensation and institutional factors such as faculty, quality, cost of living, location, tuition and fees, percentage of tenured staff, gender, and enrollment level. The most significant factors determining faculty compensation are likely to be faculty quality, economic factors, regional location, and tuition.
