Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 4:30pm. Description: The Philadelphia Council for Business Economics (PCBE, A Chapter of NABE) and Rowan University's Political Science & Economics Department present "Economic Outlook - Don't Lose Sight Of The Bright Spots!" The keynote speaker is Ellen Zentner of Nomura Securities. Zentner, Executive Director, is a Senior Desk Economist for the US at Nomura, the global investment bank. She provides in-depth analysis and research on US macro-economic trends and identifies anomalies in market data which signal important economic shifts. Zentner works with the US economics team to monitor and provide forecasts for the US economy. She is also responsible for providing timely and instantaneous updates on market moving indicators to Nomura's sales and trading desks as well as clients. Zentner regularly appears in the media and has a strong international broadcast presence with Bloomberg News, CNBC and CBS Evening News. The Club’s regular meetings will be held every Tuesday, at 6pm, in Robinson Hall, Room 121. The new Political Science Club President is Harold Reighn *************************** Political Science Honor Society Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society, will be taking applications in February and March of 2013 in the Political Science Department, located in Robinson Hall, 3rd floor. Requirements are: a 3.0 GPA in at least ten hours of political science courses, a 3.0 GPA overall average, and a $35 one-time membership fee (fee must be paid by March 7, 2013). REMEMBER! You do not have to be a PS major to join. The Political Science & Economics' Annual Spring Celebration honoring the new members of Pi Sigma Alpha along with our graduating seniors, will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013, located in the Owl's Nest from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Congressman Robert Andrews will be attending Professor Morris Smith's Wednesday night Introduction to American Government class at the Camden Campus on Oct. 24th. There is room for more students who may be interested, please feel free to meet at the Camden Campus in the Student Lounge on the 5th floor at 8:00pm, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. The Congressman will stay for about 30 to 40 minutes and discuss the Presidential campaign and other topics the class will be covering (including campaign finance, polling, the electoral college, etc.).

Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 18th in the Science Building, Room 150 at 9:00 p.m, and our second meeting will be Wednesday, September 19th in Robinson Hall, Room 105 at 3:00 p.m. Interested members only need to attend one of the two meetings. We will be discussing our involvement in President Barack Obama's campaign for re-election and other activities that we would like to do this year, including meeting with U.S. Senator Bob Menendez.
