Students majoring in sociology receive a B.A. in sociology upon completion of all requirements. A major in sociology seeks to develop competence in the analysis and understanding of the effect which social factors have on interaction between individuals, between individual(s) and group(s), and between groups. The program provides a knowledgeable background in the field of social behavior for all majors. The program also provides the proper foundation courses for students who seek to attend graduate school to become professional sociologists.
