Rowan awarded NEH Muslim Journeys Bookshelf grant
Date: January 11, 2013
Congratulations to Glenn Odom (English department) and Kate Boland (Campbell Library) for the receipt of the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf grant. Developed by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association, the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf is intended to address both the need and desire of the American public for trustworthy and accessible resources about Muslim beliefs and practices and the cultural heritage associated with Islamic civilizations. Each participating library receives 25 books, 3 films, and access for one year to Oxford Islamic Studies Online. For more information about the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf, please visit http://www.programminglibrarian.org/muslimjourneys/mj-themes.html.
The development of Rowan's Muslim Journeys website is underway, and programs are being planned for the upcoming Spring and Fall 2013 semesters.
