Cast your vote for Marvin Creamer, 2014 NJ Hall of Fame!

Date: June 4, 2014

Dr. Marvin Creamer, Rowan alumnus and retired professor, has been nominated for the 2014 New Jersey Hall of Fame in recognition of his incredible nautical journey. Thirty-two years ago, Marvin Creamer, a then-recently retired professor of Geography at Glassboro State College, set out to sail around the world with no navigational aids—no compass, no sextant, not even a watch.  Setting out from Cape May, New Jersey, on December 21, 1982, in his 36-foot Globe Star, he managed to fulfill his dream in 514 days, returning on May 18, 1984.  To date he remains the only person to have achieved this feat of circumnavigating the globe without instrumentation!  You can cast your online vote for Dr. Creamer (under the Public Service category) up through June 20th at
