Field Trip: African Art at the Newark Museum
Date: October 24, 2012, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
Visit the extraordinary African Art on view at the Newark Museum on Wednesday, October 24th. Dr. Nichole Bridges, Associate Curator for African Art, will give the Rowan group a private tour of the collections, including two featured exhibitions: "Expanding Africa at the Newark Museum: New Visions, New Galleries" and "Present Tense: Arts of Contemporary Africa." Participants will have time to explore the museum on their own, and to attend a tour of an American art exhibition.
This field trip is open to all members of the Rowan community, though it is linked to a Sub-Saharan African History class. It is scheduled for 10/24/12, departing Rowan at 8:30 a.m. and returning to campus by 5:30 p.m. We will travel in the Rowan bus. The trip will cost $30, including transportation and museum admission.
Interested? Please contact Dr. Kelly Bryant, Assistant Professor of History, by Wednesday, October 17th . Payment will be due by October 18th.
