Courses such as Contemporary Social Theory, American Philosophy, Religion in America and American Drama will build on the foundation in American Literature and American History that the major provides. The highlight of every student's career is the Senior Seminar in American Studies (15 student maximum), an intense student participatory capstone experience. Offering banks of approved courses, the major offers the flexibility to tailor the program to personal interests and the time to further explore courses of interest that apply best to students' specific career goals. Students may also participate in internships in the History or Political Science departments.
