The Office of Academic Advising handles a myriad of tasks relating to the needs of our majors. It also provides information to students who are interesting in applying for admission to the College of Communication. If you wish to major in our program, you must first apply to Rowan University through the Office of Admissions. This office can explain the requirements for admission to the Communication major. The College of Communication is comprised of five academic departments, which offer six academic specializations: When you are admitted to the Communication major, you are assigned a faculty advisor in your chosen field of study. You MUST contact this faculty member regularly, so that successful academic progress towards graduation can be made. As a major, you must earn at least a C grade or better in all required courses, including College Composition I and II and Public Speaking. If you fail any course in this University, you must repeat that course at Rowan to remove the impact of the failing grade from your Grade Point Average (GPA). We offer only Communication Studies as a specialization in the evening. If you are interested in other areas of specialization, you must be ready to do most of your course work during the day. During the regular academic semester, we have evening hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to assist nontraditional evening students. The Office of Academic Advisement is open to all students who need information about our College. To make an appointment to please call, Esther Mummert, (856) 256-4090.
