The College of Communication is comprised of five academic departments, which offer six academic majors:

  1. Advertising
  2. Communication Studies
  3. Journalism
  4. Public Relations
  5. Radio/TV/Film
  6. Writing Arts

A few notes:

When you are admitted to any of the communication majors, you are assigned a faculty advisor in your chosen field of study. You MUST contact this faculty member regularly, so that successful academic progress towards graduation can be made.

Each of our majors has specific requirements for graduation GPA, minimum course grades, transfer limits, etc. Please be sure to review your specific major guides for information.

Though the college does offer a number of courses in the evening and online, you should be aware that we primarily offer classes on campus during traditional hours. At this time, it is not possible to complete any major in evening only or online courses.

For ongoing, regular academic advisement, students should always see their primary academic advisor. The Office of Academic Advisement is open to students who need information about our College, wish to change majors from one program to another, or are ready for their senior review. To make an appointment to please call, Esther Mummert, (856) 256-4090.
