Portfolio Contents

The portfolio, electronically submitted via Bb-CE, includes one paper from each of the following courses:

*These pieces must come from other courses in the program or be originally submitted elsewhere at Rowan. For those submitting poetry, five pages of poetry constitute one paper.

None of these five papers has to be revised, though it is assumed you will probably include your most representative work within the portfolio.

Procedures for Electronic Portfolio
For a helpful guide to putting together your portfolio, see the guides to working with electronic portfolios, found on the Portfolio Seminar website.

PDFs
While you should use .doc or .docx documents for group work, once you are putting the final portfolio together, you should covert all files to pdf’s prior to uploading them to your portfolio! This will allow readers to more easily access them. If you do not know how to create a pdf, see page 8 of the “More extensive version” of the “Guides to Electronic Portfolios at Rowan,” found on the Portfolio Seminar webpage.

Electronic Submissions
If you wish to submit a paper that only exists in cyberspace, simply provide a link for the URL rather than the complete paper.

Naming Your Files
Be sure, in naming the files, that you make clear what course the paper is from.
Example: Evaluating Writing Genre Analysis or Creative Writing I short story.

To be sure you don’t run into problems, follow these rules from the Guide to Electronic Portfolios at Rowan for naming files.

Avoid special characters
Special characters cannot be used when naming files, or entering titles and descriptions for files and Owner Tools in Bb-CE. Names can include underscores, letters, and numbers. Do NOT include punctuation or other special characters (i.e. / ! # : ; - @ & \ ?).
