College of Communication - Writing Arts
Student Photography Contest
For the second year, the College of Communication is sponsoring a photography contest. This contest will allow us both to honor some of our amazing student photographers, and also to gather images that can be used in college promotional material. The deadline for all entries is Feb. 25, 2012. Please read all rules below. Entries that do not follow all rules (e.g., aren't related, no release submitted, etc.) will not be considered.
Details and Rules
All College of Communication majors are eligible to enter.
Work must clearly represent communication or the College of Communication at Rowan.
Enter by submitting photos via email to the Dean of Communication (arnold@rowan.edu). Photo releases (click here) for images containing people must be submitted to the Dean's Office in hard copy by the deadline date, and all emails must include the name, Rowan ID, and major of the photographer.
The deadline for submissions and releases is February 25, 2012, with awards to be announced March 15th.
The top 5 photos will receive $100 Barnes and Noble gift cards and will be featured in the CoC annual report. No one individual can win more than one award, but multiple submissions (no more than 5 per person please) can be sent.
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Submitter must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Submission of the photo and entry form is considered guarantee that entrant is the author and copyright holder of the photo.
Photos containing recognizable people (i.e., not crowd scenes, but people whose faces can be clearly seen) must be accompanied by a signed and witnessed release form (see above).
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph utilized in college publications and on the website without any fee or other form of compensation. Photos used will be credited to the photographer named in the entry form.
Last year's winning photographer, Tom Scott, had his work featured on the cover of the College of Communication Annual Report, which was distributed across campus and to all alumni of the college, as well as to various influential members of the communication field.
We are looking forward to seeing your work!
