In the past this concert has produced some of the most interesting, innovative and 'off the wall' creations ever heard at Rowan. Anything goes! This concert is always a favorite.

Jazz Goes Around the World
The three day Rowan Jazz Festival come to its close on Friday evening. The final concert will feature musical interpretations of styles and compositions from around the world. Grooves and interpretations from foreign lands will find their way into arrangements and compositions. A first time event for the Jazz Department.

Rowan Jazz Band and Lab Band in Concert
The Rowan Lab Band with it's unique sound and approach will be performing some music by past Jazz graduate Nick Fernandez. The Lab Band focuses on original compositions, improvisation while constantly on the look-out for innovation opportunities. The group's unique instrumentation is always a surprise. The Rowan Jazz Band will perform new and classic selections from the repertoire set up by great bands such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich and much more?.. .

Brian Betz Jazz Recital

Trio M Master Class and Performance

All daytime events are free. Friday night concert February 9 at 8pm will be
the main concert at 8pm. Special guest will be jazz trombonist and jazz

Lab Band and Jazz Band Pfleeger Concert Hall, Rowan University
The music of Nick Fernandez - Nick Fernandez is an undergraduate senior
Jazz Performance Major on trumpet. Composing and arranging for Nick is a
sideline to his already demanding major. The entire night of music contains
something Nick has either composed or arranged. The early Jazz Band, Jazz
Big Band and Unique Lab Band will all be performing Nick's pieces. This goes
beyond what a graduate jazz composition major would be required to do.
