Robert Lipartito

Robert Lipartito joined the Wilson Music Library staff in 2001. In addition to serving as Head Librarian, he is also the library liaison to the Art Department and the Department of Theatre & Dance. Bob's areas of specialization include reference, music cataloging, and collection management. Bob holds degrees from Queens College, City University of New York (M.L.S., Library and Information Science), the Manhattan School of Music (M.M., Tuba), and Rowan University (B.M., Music Education). He has worked as a librarian at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Bob has also worked for the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Pennsylvania, where he cataloged scores and manuscripts in the Leopold Stokowski Collection. Bob is a contributor to the fourth edition of A Basic Music Library: Essential Scores and Sound Recordings and has presented workshops on the cataloging of audio recordings for the Music Library Association's educational outreach program. He is also an accomplished artist working in a variety of painting, drawing, and printmaking media. His work has been exhibited at the Reading Public Museum, Philadelphia City Hall, and numerous galleries and art centers in the Philadelphia area.
