Douglas Mapp is a graduate of the University of the Arts and Temple University. He is principal bassist with the Reading Symphony, Opera Delaware, Kennett Symphony and the assistant principal bass of the Delaware Symphony. He regularly performs with the Philly Pops, Harrisburg Symphony, the Pennsylvania Ballet, and has performed as soloist with the Reading Symphony. He has performed as a substitute musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra and is a core member of the new music group Relache. He can be heard on recordings by Philip Glass, The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, gospel Artist Jeff Majors, and The Rel?che Ensemble. He has performed with a wide variety of artists including Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Earth Wind and Fire, the Mendelssohn String Quartet, The Network for New Music, S.E.M Ensemble of New York, Ernie Watts, Doc Severenson, and Terrance Blanchard. |
