Ways to Study - Fall, 2012 through Spring, 2013
Admission to Rowan Prep is open to anyone desiring to learn music. We offer a variety of courses for students aged O to 99+ years. The faculty and staff can assist new students in finding the most appropriate type of instruction. All individual/private music instruction requires a placement interview/phone call with the director, Regina Di Medio Marrazza. Informational meetings can be arranged with the Director as well to help guide you/your child in your musical journey. Beginner Group Piano Class (ages 5-7)

Tuesdays, 4:00 - 4:45 (limit 4 per class)

Cost: spring semester (based on 10 weeks): $220
Please Note: Each Class is limited to 4 students
Join Rowan Prep director/pianist, Gina Di Medio Marrazza in this 10-week beginner/introductory piano class. This class is geared to give young/curious "budding" pianists a strong foundation in rhythm, note reading, and basic technique so that they can confidently continue their "piano journey" in private instruction. The class is limited to 4 students; students are taught on acoustic pianos and learn how to develop critical listening skills and proper pianistic habits.
Beginner/Intermediate Group Trumpet/Brass Class (ages 8-12)
Faculty: Bryan Appleby-Wineberg
Fridays, 6:15 - 7:00 p.m.
Cost: spring semester (based on 12 weeks): $240; ($70 for those in private instruction at Prep)
First day of spring class: Friday, January 25, 2013
Join Rowan University/Rowan Prep faculty member, Dr. Bryan Appleby-Wineberg & Associate Matthew Hartmann, and delve into the "brass world" with your instrument. Beginner and intermediate level students are welcome. Learn basic reading, breathing, and brass-specific techniques within an an encouraging and dynamic environment. All students are required to bring their own instruments to class.
Beginner Guitar Class (ages 8-12)

Wednesdays, 5:15 - 6:00 p.m.
Cost: spring semester (based on 10 weeks): $220
This class is designed for younger beginners interested in learning the guitar in a supportive group setting. The students will learn how to play the instrument while learning about the basic setup, tuning and maintenance of the guitar. Parents are encouraged to bring a guitar and learn alongside their child.
YOUTH BRASS FEST - with The Atlantic Brass Band - ONE DAY EVENT!

Join Dr. Appleby-Wineberg and other school-agedbrass players in this brilliant and fun ensemble experience - BRASS BAND FEST! This one-day program will be held on Sunday, November 18, at Rowan University's Wilson Hall. Students in our Youth Brass Fest will be taught ensemble-playing, as well as will receive lessons and invaluable instruction in sectionals from The Atlantic Brass Band (Ensemble-In-Residence at Rowan University), current Rowan faculty, & Rowan Graduate students.
Youth Brass Fest is open to any/all school-aged brass players of the following instruments:
percussion, cornet, flugel horn, tenor horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium, and baritone
No Audition is required. This event is Rowan Prep's kickoff to our spring, 2013 Ensemble class: Brass Band. All students who attend this day-long event will receive a discount to the spring class.
Music Theater Audition Workshop - ONE DAY EVENT!

This workshop - in a Master Class format - with Rowan Prep's newest voice/group teachers will give each student recommendations regarding technique & interpretation, body/experesssion & movement, as well as work with an audition accompanist. A great chance to try your music Theater selections for upcoming auditions!
Cost: $30 per student (includes accompanist) (limit to 7 participants)

Rehearsals every Tuesday and Thursday evening, 4:45-6:00 p.m.
Fee: $95 per semester
The Rowan University Statesmen gather from across campus and beyond to become an energized, motivated, and dynamic ensemble. Enrollment is open to advanced high school men, Rowan University students, faculty, the greater Glassboro community, and Rowan Alumni. The Statesmen perform sacred and secular repertoire, barbershop tunes, and some crowd-pleasing numbers both on and off campus each semester. Recently, they have performed at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and at Citizens Bank Park having sung the National Anthem for the Philadelphia Phillies! While you do not have to be able to read music to be in the choir, you should be able to match pitch. All new members are required to meet with the conductor following their first rehearsal.
