Regina Di Medio Marrazza, Director, Rowan Prep
Regina Di Medio Marrazza has had a multi-faceted career as a pianist, accompanist, teacher, and arts administrator. As solo pianist, she has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music and at the Mann Music Center, and with the Bordeaux Symphony at the Ravel Academy in St. Jean De Luz, France. Ms. Di Medio Marrazza has played with her sister, Annette Di Medio, in engagements with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of the late-conductors Arthur Fiedler and William Smith. The duo-piano team has also performed with the Orchestra 2001, with Peter Schikele, the Swarthmore College Orchestra, Bryn Mawr College Orchestra, the Trenton Symphony and the University of the Arts Orchestra in Philadelphia. In addition, they directed overseas in the Defense Department/USO Christmas tour through Catholic University, performed at The State Department, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and have been featured in chamber music performances with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Together, they produced their first duo-recording, "Christmas Spirit". Ms. Di Medio Marrazza was accompanist/pianist featured on the Placido Domingo masterclass, aired on PBS. She also accompanied members of the Philadelphia Orchestra in recital, including David Arben, Philip Kates, and Mason Jones. As an arts administrator, she dedicated 17 years to the Levine School of Music in various administrative positions, and was the Director of Levine's Maryland Campus for 12 years. She was a faculty member of Levine's piano department for 15 years, and was adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia, accompanist-in-residence/adjunct faculty at The American University in Washington, DC, as well as a staff/faculty member at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Believing strongly in the role of the arts, and the importance of helping "spread the word", she developed and co-hosted the cable program, "Performance Moves", giving viewers an inside look into performance and education in the arts throughout Montgomery County, MD. The program received national attention as the first place winner of the NATOA award for performance programming. Presently, she is the Director at Rowan Prep, Rowan University's newest member of their musical family in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. www.rowan.edu/rowanprep. Ms. Di Medio Marrazza received her B.M. in piano from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts and her M.M. in Chamber Music and Accompanying from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
