Karen M. Coates earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Rowan University in 2005. Since then, she has served on the faculties of Pemberton Township and Salem City, where she taught instrumental music to elementary, middle, and high school students. She was the Musical Director for Pemberton Township's theater program, and the Assistant Director of Buena Regional High School's "Marching Chiefs". Karen has assisted in creating and rehearsing choreography for musical theater and show choirs. She's had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in 2001, as well as performing under prominent wind composer James Curnow, Grammy Award Winning conductor Dr. Robert Page, and with renowned musicians such as Dale Underwood and Randy Brecker. Her professional affiliations include Sigma Alpha Iota, NJMEA, and Dance Time Productions. In addition to her music studies, Karen has traveled to Europe to study language and International Business, and is pursuing a Master's Degree. Ms. Coates presently works in the College of Performing Arts at Rowan University and teaches ballroom dancing in Moorestown, NJ.
