Concert Choir tours Eastern Europe

Members of the Rowan Concert Choir and director Christopher Thomas enjoyed a week-long tour of three Eastern European cities from May 19 – 26, experiencing the sites and playing to full houses along the way.

After arriving in Prague and touring the city, the Choir offered a performance at St. Nicholas Church (to a full crowd!) on its second day there.

The remainder of the tour included performances at St. Peter and Paul Church in Krakow and St. Michael's Church in Budapest. Along the way, they also presented impromptu performances at St. Vitus Cathedral (Prague), Jagiellonian University (Krakow), Cathedral and Royal Castle (Krakow), and City Square in Szentendre (Hungary).

In addition to the choral concerts, the group was able to see a number of key sites in the region, everything from a visit to the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps to lunch in Slovakia and a boat ride down the Danube River.
