Tom Fusco is the professor of Stagecraft and Technical Director for the Department. He received a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an M.F.A. in Technical Production from Boston University. He spent several years working as a Technical Director at Regional Theater Companies like the White River Theatre Festival, VT, The Children's Theater of Maine and Portland Stage Company, ME. Other theaters where he has worked include the A.R.T. in Cambridge, MA and the Huntington Theater in Boston, MA. At Rowan Tom started a student manned production company called the Stage Rats. To date the company has built and loaded in sets around South Jersey and Philadelphia, working for Luna Productions, Ego Po Productions, GCIT, and Voorhees Middle School. Recent academic work includes the creation of the Tech. Boot Camp, a program designed to assist faculty in creating digital pedagogical materials for teaching in and out of the classroom. This two year project culminated in hosting a break out session at the Nov. '11 NJEdge conference. Past presentations include "E-Stagecraft - Using the Internet to Teach Technical Theater" at the National Ubiquitous Conference in Chicago and "The Stagecraft Website" at the USITT conference in Long Beach, CA. Tom is also in the process of researching and co- authoring "4D Karate", a system of martial arts based on re-conceptualizing defense applications from traditional Shotokan Kata.
