About the College

The College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was established to facilitate access to Rowan University’s high quality academic programs for individuals seeking education, training, and enrichment in a convenient and affordable setting. CPCE students are characterized as non-traditional because of their personal and professional lives and their preference for studying part-time with flexible schedules and convenient and innovative instructional modes of delivery.

Academic Services (Credit Bearing Programs)

Through Academic Services, CPCE students are admitted according to the standards and requirements established by the Admission’s Office, the Graduate School, and the corresponding academic departments. CPCE does not have its own degrees, nor does it “own” a curriculum. It is simply a vehicle to offer existing degrees and courses to a different population of students through different modes of delivery. Therefore, the respective academic unit will grant the same diploma and/or certificate to students pursuing a degree through CPCE as it would to a traditional student.   No matter where you study – on campus, off-site, with a partner community college or online – you are a Rowan student.

While you are fully a part of Rowan University following the same academic policies as the traditional learner, as a CPCE student, it’s important to know that you will often follow different administrative processes and deadlines that better meet your unique needs.  For this reason, we ask that you stay in touch with your CPCE Administrative Advisor and the CPCE Academic Services Team to make sure you follow the appropriate steps for your particular program and stay on the right track along the way toward your degree or whatever your end goal may be!

CPCE is always developing new programs to better serve our students. The most up-to-date list of current CPCE credit-bearing programs/certificates/endorsements is available at www.rowan.edu/cpce under “Academic Services.”

A Note about Admission to CPCE-Administered Programs

Undergraduate Degree Completion Programs
To apply for any undergraduate degree completion program offered through CPCE, please use the “CPCE Transfer/Degree Completion Application Form” available from CPCE or to download from www.rowan.edu/cpce under “Forms.”  These should be sent to Undergraduate Admissions at Rowan. (Rowan University, Office of Admissions, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028-1701)

Graduate Degrees, Post Bac & Graduate Certificate or Endorsement Programs
To apply for any CPCE graduate/doctoral-level program or for one of the post-bac programs offered through CPCE, please use the “CPCE Graduate & Post-Bac Application Form,” available from CPCE or to download from www.rowan.edu/cpce under “Forms.”  Ed.D./doctoral students should instead use the “Ed.D. Application Form” available from that same site.  Applications for any graduate/doctoral/post-bac program offered through CPCE should be sent to the Director of Academic Services at CPCE. (Director of Academic Services, College of Professional and Continuing Education, Education Hall, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028, FAX:  856-256-5638.)  Please do not send admission materials to the Graduate School as this will delay processing.

Continuing Education (Non-credit Bearing Programs)

In addition to credit education, CPCE offers customized education and training to corporations, school districts, and other for- and not-for-profit agencies and organizations. The college offers Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Professional Development Hours (PDH) in selective areas of study.  If your company is in need of customized training or there is a particular area of interest you would like to explore with us please contact us at (856) 256-4715 or via email at cpce@rowan.edu
