Undergraduate Degree Completion

B.A. in Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science

This is a part-time program offered on the Rowan University Glassboro campus with class meetings on Saturdays only at an accelerate seven week pace.  It is ideal for adults who have work and familial obligations and need to complete a bachelor's degree in order to advance their career.  Degree completion is possible in as little as 24 months*.  Because the majority of the courses included in this program are focused in either Law and Justice or Business, students may be eligible for a certificate in each of these areas upon successful completion of the Liberal Studies degree.

*The time it takes to complete this program will depend on the number of credits a student  has at the time of application.  Transfer credit evaluation is available through the Program Coordinator (link to Aimee Burgin).

Admissions requirements

• $50 application fee
• CPCE Transfer/Degree Completion Application Form
• One official transcript from all colleges attended
• Courses in progress sheet (if applicable)
• Copy of student’s Social Security card
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
• No standardized tests are required!

Plus:

• At least 24 hours of transferrable credit. (Because of pre-requisites and the demands of the coursework, 45 hours is usually recommended.  All prospective students will meet with the LSHSS Program Coordinator who will review transcripts to determine transfer credit).

Application deadline

There is one “ideal start” for admission to the Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science program. It is Summer 2010 Online Module 5. (See also the “Program Entry Points” in the Detail Sheet for other admission starts.) 

Program requirements

• 120 credits are required to complete this program
•   42 credits in the major sequence (offered through CPCE)
•   18 credits of free electives
•   60 credits of general education

Coursework

Classes meet on Saturday for seven weeks.  Two seven-week sessions are offered each term. See the Course Description Sheet for a full list of courses and course descriptions.
