CPCE Part of Term Schedules

There are five main schedules that CPCE uses for its courses and programs.

Modified Schedules (12 Week Hybrid, 14 Week Hybrid, 12 Week Web-assisted, 14 Week Web-assisted)
16 Week Session (While registration deadlines differ, start and ends dates for 16 Week CPCE Sessions usually follow the start and end dates for the Regular Rowan Schedule. See below.)

Regular Rowan Schedule

Note: Students enrolled in one of the undergraduate off-site community college partnership programs will follow the Regular Rowan Schedule for class meetings (which includes class start/end dates and holiday closings).  Students will only use the community college schedule for snow day and other emergency closings.

Online Module Schedule Chart

  • Online Modules (ONLMOD) are the 8-week sessions whose dates mirror the Rowan Online program offerings. (These dates will often fall across holiday weekends and DO NOT necessarily follow the RU Calendar or the On-Site Modules)
  • Each week of the ONLMOD begins Tuesday at 8:00 AM and ends Monday at 11PM EST.
  • For the very first week of every module, no assignments will be due before the 4th day.
  • With the exception of Spring 08, there will a one-week break between the 2nd and 3rd module, between the 4th and 5th module, and between the 6th and 1st module.
  • Module 1 of both the Online and Onsite mods will always start based upon Rowan University’s official start date.
  • Please know that for online classes, coursework is still due at designated times regardless of holidays that may fall within particular weeks. Also, coursework and due dates will stay in effect regardless of weather or other-related school closings.

Online Module Schedule for Registration-related Dates

On-Site Module Schedule Chart

  • On-Site Modules (ONSMOD) are the 7-8 week sessions offered as face-to-face module.  These courses usually take place on Rowan’s main or Camden campuses or on a partner campus.
  • Please note:  There is a separate schedule for Saturday-only programs.  (See the Saturday Studies Schedule Chart.)
  • Each week of the ONSMOD normally runs from Monday to Saturday.
  • University holidays will be observed and there will be a break (according to official RU dates) between the  2nd and 3rd module, between the 4th and 5th module, and between the 6th and 1st module.
  • Module 1 of both the Online and Onsite mods will always start based upon Rowan University’s official start date.

Onsite Module Schedule for Registration-related Dates

Saturday Studies Program Schedule Chart

  • Saturday Studies Program (SSP) courses are accelerated and scheduled within the SSP Module (regardless of location).  A typical Saturday Studies class meets for 7 Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2 PM.  (Some instructors may shorten class time by offering up to 10 hours of coursework via BlackBoard. Instructors will coordinate this with the director of Academic Services at CPCE. Details about the amount of coursework, if any, that is web-based will appear in the title column of the section tally.)
  • Two Saturday sessions are offered back-to-back each term.
  • Instructors teaching within the Saturday Studies program are responsible for ensuring that they have at least 12.5* contact hours for every credit hour taught.

*assuming the course is not a lab course or other course requiring additional contact hours

  • The Modified Schedules listed below are designed to serve any 12 or 14 week CPCE course - whether it is fully face-to face, fully online, a hybrid (combination of online and face-to-face meetings) or web-assisted in which less than 60% of the course is conducted on the web. (See below for which courses follow which schedules.)
  • There are 4 possible modified schedules within two major types. They are:
