Modified Schedules Chart

  • The Modified Schedules listed below are designed to serve any 12 or 14 week CPCE course - whether it is fully face-to face, fully online, a hybrid (combination of online and face-to-face meetings) or web-assisted in which less than 60% of the course is conducted on the web. (See below for which courses follow which schedules.)
  • There are 4 possible modified schedules within two major types. They are:

Type 1: Hybrid

    • 12-Week Hybrid Modified Schedule
    • 14-Week Hybrid Modified Schedule
    • These schedules are listed as hybrid; however, they could include fully online 12 or 14-week courses as well. Details about the number of face-to-face meetings (if any) and instructions for accessing online coursework will be included in the Section Tally (www.rowan.edu/cpcecoursesearch).
    • Each week of Hybrid Modified Schedule courses – whether 12 week or 14 week - start on Tuesday and end on Monday.
    • These dates will often fall across holiday weekends and DO NOT necessarily follow the regular RU Calendar.
    • Many of the Modified Schedule Hybrid courses actually combine a fully online 8-week course with 4-6 weeks of additional face-to-face meetings/placements/fieldwork. Again, details will be included in the appropriate Detail Sheet (www.rowan.edu/cpce under “Academic Services”) and the Section Tally (www.rowan.edu/cpcecoursesearch).

Type 2: Web-Assisted

    • 12-Week Web-Assisted Modified Schedule
    • 14-Week Web-Assisted Modified Schedule
    • These schedules are listed as web-assisted; however, they could include fully face-to-face 12 or 14-week courses as well. Details about the number of face-to-face meetings and instructions for accessing web content (if any) will be included in the Section Tally (www.rowan.edu/cpcecoursesearch).
    • Each week of Web-Assisted Modified Schedule courses – whether 12 week or 14 week - start on Monday and end on Saturday.
    • University holidays will be observed and are included in the Schedule Chart.
  • Start and end dates for each of the 4 Modified Schedules are listed in the chart below.
  • While start and end dates differ according to type and length, all of the 4 Modified Schedules follow the same essential registration and drop/add schedule with slight variations due only to type – either hybrid or web-assisted.  Click on the appropriate term to view the registration-related dates for the Modified Schedules.
  • How to Determine which Schedule your Course/Program Follows:  While most CPCE degrees and certificate programs have all of their courses fall within/follow one registration schedule, a few programs (Ed. D., School Nursing, and RN to BSN) have courses that fall within more than one CPCE schedule, and these usually include one of the Modified Schedules in this section. To determine exactly which schedule your course/program follows and therefore, which registration deadlines you will need to meet, check the Section Tally and/or the appropriate Detail Sheet as instructed below:
    • Any course following a Modified Schedule would be marked as such in one of two ways in the official Rowan CPCE Section Tally(www.rowan.edu/cpcecoursesearch):
      • It would be listed in the Section Tally under the “Part of Term” column as a numbered “CPCE Session” (such as CPCE Second Session) with a 12-14-week date range.

      • It would be listed in the Section Tally under the “Part of Term” column as “CPCE Modified Session” and then include either “Web-Assisted” or “Hybrid” as well as the appropriate 12-14-week date range.  The “session” column would also further identify the course as web-assisted or hybrid.
    • Any course following a Modified Schedule would be marked as such in one of two ways in the appropriate program’s Detail Sheet (www.rowan.edu/cpce under “Academic Services”):
      • It would be marked as such in the Detail Sheet’s “Course Sequence and Timeline” section as either a 12-week/14-week web-assisted or hybrid course.
      • The Detail Sheet’s “CPCE Registration Schedule and Course Information” section would direct the reader to any and all CPCE schedules the program followed.
