Burlington County Inclusion Project

About the Burlington County Inclusion Project (BCIP)

The Burlington County Inclusion Project (BCIP) began as a New Jersey Department of Education funded project under the Professional Development for Persons Working with Children with Disabilities grant in 1998.

Eleven school districts teamed-up with Rowan University with the goal of developing strategies that would allow a greater number of students with special needs to be educated in regular education classrooms within their local communities.

BCIP serves as a forum where teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators may receive support and share best practices as they continue to integrate their educational programs and foster diversity among their student populations.

Today, ten years since it’s initiation, and eight years following the depletion of state funds, thirty-two Burlington County districts continue to participate in and benefit from this successful and thriving program.

Inclusion Consultation Services

The consultation of an Inclusion Coordinator and an Assistive Technology Specialist is available to all BCIP participating districts.

Training Services
