Master of Engineering Management (MEM)
Online

The goal of the Rowan University MEM program is to effectively prepare engineers and/or aspiring engineers for management positions. The majority of the courses in the MEM program are offered as hybrid courses with approximately 50% of each course taught online and 50% of each course taught on campus. Two eight-week courses will be offered, one after the other, each academic term. Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following disciplines:
    • Engineering, engineering technology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics,  computer science, or Education with appropriate coursework in science and mathematics
  • Successful completion of the following undergraduate courses:
    • Calculus I, Chemistry I, Physics I, and Statistics I
  • 2.5 or higher undergraduate GPA
  • Completed application
  • One official transcript from all colleges attended
  • Two recommendations
  • Statement of professional objectives (recommendation forms and guidelines for statement of objectives are included with application materials)

  • April 16, 2008 for May 6 admission

Program requirements

Students must successfully complete 30 semester hours of engineering and business courses broken down as follows:  Core Courses – 9 S.H., Specialization Courses – 12 S.H., Elective Courses – 9 S.H.  Each student will be advised by the Coordinator of Engineering Management who will approve the student’s program of study, subject to the guidelines of the University, the College of Engineering, the College of Business, College of Professional and Continuing Education, and the Graduate School.  With the assistance of the Coordinator of Engineering Management, students will choose courses leading to one of four specializations in Engineering Management.

Coursework

Classes typically last 8 weeks and are taught using a combination of online and evening classroom instruction.
