Program Guides for Transfer Students

  • The Department of Biological Sciences advises transfer applicants with 60 credit hours or more of completed coursework of the following: the completion of a minimum of the following courses prior to transferring to Rowan University will provide the greatest opportunity to graduate from Rowan University in four semesters (two years) or fewer of full-time coursework:

    Biology I (BIOL 01100)
    Biology II (BIOL 01101)
    Chemistry I (CHEM 06100)
    Chemistry II (CHEM 06101)
    Calculus I (MATH 01130)

Course equivalents at most institutions in the region are listed here: http://www.rowan.edu/provost/registrar/courseequiv.html
Please note that the Rowan B.S. Biology degree requires students to complete four different upper-level lab classes as part of their 22 hours of upper-level Biology electives, and that only one of those lab classes may be a 200-level course.  Please be aware that New Jersey state rules are such that county college classes may only transfer into Rowan as 100- or 200-level courses.

Additional requirements for a B.S. in Biology are included in the program guides below.
