Bio/Abstract: Michael J. Rushnak, M.D.,
M.P.H. is a graduate of Rutgers Medical School with studies in Radiology and
Family Practice. He has also graduated from Rutgers School of Public Health.
His course work has included Healthcare Ethics, Healthcare Policy, Principles
of Public Health, Healthcare Economics, Environmental Health, Bio-statistics,
and Epidemiology. In addition to being a national speaker on major issues
affecting healthcare in America and an ardent advocate for comprehensive
healthcare reform he is an author of three medical mystery thriller novels that
explore life and death issues in the healthcare arena. Besides having his own
private practice he has thirty-nine years of healthcare leadership while
serving in a broad spectrum of senior management positions in the research of
“Best Practices,” preventive health products pharmaceutical
industry, pharmacy benefit management, non-profit managed care, state
department of health government.
Michael J. Rushnak’s
seminar will cover the following topics: 1) Brief overview of vaccines and the
public fears they initially generated; 2) Research on a universal cancer
vaccine; 3) Overview of viruses linked to human cancers; 4) FDA approved
preventive and therapeutic vaccines for cancer; 5) Standard of care for
treatment of cancer with vaccines; 6) Animal model research on a vaccine to
prevent cancers from exposure to radiation stopped by Congress; 7) Annual World
Cancer Vaccines Summit (1st conference 2010); 8) Future of cancer vaccines.
The March meeting will be held at at Illiano's Ristorante Italiano in Hammonton.
