Biography: Ph.D., Boston University Field: Experimental Solid State Physics Thin films are used in electronic devices, as protective coatings, and in fundamental research. We currently are synthesizing and characterizing carbon based films for permeation barriers, protective coatings, electrodes in supercapacitors, and for understanding the anisotropic electrical transport in anisotropic single crystal films. Films are grown using a sputtering technique and complete characterization of crystal structure, composition, and physical properties can be made at Rowan.
