2010 New Jersey Geographic Bee to be hosted at Rowan

Rowan University is pleased to announce that it will host the 2010 New Jersey finals for the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek. The National Geographic Bee is an annual geography contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The Bee, held every year since 1989, is open to fourth- through eighth-grade students in participating American schools. The 2009 New Jersey Geographic Bee attracted 104 students from schools located throughout the state. It is anticipated that more than 300 parents and students will attend the state finals being held at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, on Friday, 9 April 2010. Registration opens at 11:00 am and the contest will begin at 12:00 pm. It is free and open to the public.
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences recognizes the great work and planning efforts of Dr. Zachary Moore, who received a grant from National Geography to support the New Jersey Alliance for Geographic Education.
