College of Education - Child Care Center

Policies and Procedures

An Executive committee and the Director make up the governing body of the Child Care Center. Parents who are registered at the Child Care are eligible to serve on the committee. The Center exists primarily to serve the Rowan University Community.

Parent Responsibilities and Child Eligibility

The Center is set up as a cooperative. Parental involvement is a special characteristic of the Child Care Center. All parents attending classes are responsible to work in the Center approximately one-third of the time their child spends in the center. Each child must have a parent registered as a full or part time student or as a faculty, staff or alumni member.

Each child must be between the ages of two 1/2 and six years old and toilet trained upon entrance into the program. Each child must be reasonably self sufficient and able to communicate. All immunizations should be up-to -date and a medical form must be completed by a physician. The form must be filed with the center on or before the first day of class. Also each child must be covered by family medical insurance.

Children should bring their own lunch. A snack is provided in the morning and afternoon.
Candy and soda should NOT accompany children's lunches and gum is not permitted in the center.
