College of Education - Early Childhood Demonstration Center

ECDC Staff

The staff works together as a team to support our philosophy and mission statement. The ECDC has a comprehensive staff consisting of certified teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff that assist in the daily operation of the early childhood program.

The staff receives annual professional development and training in the areas of child growth and development, positive guidance and discipline and health, safety, and nutrition.

Miss Leah Walker has been working in various preschools for the last 8 years in different roles. She started at the ECDC as a student worker in 2009 and is in her second full time year as the Lead Teacher. As a graduate of Rowan University with degrees in Early Childhood Education and American Studies, she is excited to be working for her alma-mater. She is a NJ certified teacher of preschool through grade 3 and students with disabilities. When not at school, Miss Leah is an active reader, loves spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her cat, Stella.

Ms. Chickie (Charlotte) Rodgers has been the full-time instructional assistant at the ECDC for the last 15 years. She has a CDA certification. In her spare time, Ms. Chickie enjoys gardening, cooking, spending time with her four children and her grandchildren, and playing with her cat and 5 dogs (well, her dogs).
