About Laurie DiRosa, Ph.D.
Dr. Laurie DiRosa holds an Ed.D. from Wilmington University, an M.S. in Health Promotion Management from American University, and a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science from Ursinus College. Her research interests are on the use of motivational interviewing to change health related behaviors among various populations; currently her work is focused on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. DiRosa currently teaches Foundations in Health Promotion and Fitness Management (HPFM), Administration of Health Promotion and Fitness Programs, and Practicum in HPFM for the undergraduate HPFM program. She also teaches Understanding and Applying Professional Literature in Health and Fitness for the graduate program in Wellness and Lifestyle Management.
Dr. DiRosa is the Coordinator of the HPFM Internship program and the Research and Nutrition Coordinator for the GetFIT program at Rowan University. She also is the coordinator and developer of Nutrition M.I. Way, a motivational interviewing training program available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and community members in the field of health promotion.
