About Nicole Edwards, Ph.D.
Dr. Nicole M. Edwards earned a Ph.D. in Special Education from University of Maryland, College Park, a M.Ed in Early Childhood Special Education from New York University, and a BA in Psychology with an Elementary Education certification from SUNY Geneseo. She has enjoyed teaching various courses at Rowan University, including Positive Behavior Support Systems for Students with Exceptional Learning Needs, Human Exceptionality, and an Early Childhood Special Education Clinical Seminar. Her current research interests include factors that support family empowerment and home-school partnerships (primarily in birth - five), primary caregivers' perceived role in emotional development, roadblocks to implementing Positive Behavior Supports in the classroom setting, and better understanding national concern with satisfying the federal Child Find mandate for earlier detection and screening of young children with special needs.
